French Oak Four-Poster Barley-Twist Bed c1920 France
Elegant French oak four-post bed, distinguished by beautifully turned barley-twist posts and matching barley-twist spindles to the headboard. The substantial corner posts are finished with turned finials, while the footboard features finely moulded recessed panels. The beautifully aged oak, together with the extensive hand-turned detailing, gives this handsome French bed a strong architectural presence. Sympathetically lengthened to accommodate a full-length UK King / US Queen bed base and mattress across the full width, making it particularly suitable for contemporary use.
