Early 20th Century Spanish Provincial Barley Twist Bed. A wonderfully crafted early 20th-century Spanish Provincial bed, showcasing the warmth and character of traditional Iberian craftsmanship. The striking headboard features an elegant arrangement of hand-turned barley twist spindles beneath a shaped crest with carved finials, while the matching footboard is adorned with a series of decorative hand-carved arches and turned pendants. Tall turned corner posts with finial tops complete the classic silhouette. Rich in architectural detail and artisanal quality, this bed displays a wonderful aged patina that has developed over decades, enhancing the warmth of the walnut-toned wood. The construction is solid and sturdy, making it both a decorative statement and a functional piece. The bed is presented with newer extended oak side rails, allowing it to accommodate a modern full-length mattress and base. It will accept a 150 cm European, UK King Size or US Queen Size mattress across the full width of the frame. The bed base will be supplied. Please enquire for fitting recommendations.
