Monumental Charles Dudouty Brutalist Six Arm Chandelier C1940s France
€4,500.00
A rare and spectacular six-light Charles Dudouyt chandelier, crafted circa 1940. Masterfully crafted in dark, turned, and carved wood, the six horizontal arms and the substantial central stem are adorned with the signature wine press screw style carving. Each arm is finished with a turned wooden bobeche and a ‘faux’ candle light, topped off with charming, all original, polka dot velveteen shades -which of course, can be changed to suit your personal preference. In great vintage condition with good aged patina and only minor traces of wear, consistent with its age and use. Completely rewired with all new electrical components, in compliance with modern safety standards. The fixture takes six small screw-in bulbs (E12 or E14) and is suitable for use worldwide. This chandelier cleverly slots together, without the use of any metal hardware, and can be dismantled and reassembled easily. As a result, we are able to offer alternative shipping at a reduced cost – please ask for details.
